Kung Fu Panda - Oogway Ascends

I made a remake with the Instrument x cello of a very small part the original Kung Fu Panda theme, played by Tina Guo herself, as usual in a very special outfit and with all gestures she apparently loves in the YT vid below.

 

 Listening at the YT-Guo version I was convinced that her performance must have been inspired by authentic erhu playing. Without the knowledge of the Guo performance I would have made a very classical version without the vibratissimo and glissandi you can hear in this version. The goal was trying to make it a look-alike.

There was much to enjoy working on this track, vibrato, dynamic transition, the idiomatic very short moment of the bow-sfz just shortly before the change of the bow. It is all doable.  

Händel aria - Lascia ch'io pianga

I would like to share a small fragment from Händel's famous aria Lascia Ch'io Pianga. I made this one just before the trial with SynthX ends. I used a female opera singer here, Galenaia (there are more really strange names in their collection).

For the record: 1x vl1 (complementary to the voice part), 2x vl2, 2 x vla, 2 x vlc, all IX.
Cembalo Pianoteq, theorbe Rinascimento.

I regard the strings as very convenient for the accompaniment, the main reason to share this one.

 

Horn quartet comparison

I made a comparison of 5 brass products. It is based on the first measures of "Cantabile", a work for piano from the French composer Widor. I don't know if this is my own arrangement here, maybe not. 

Although short, it can give a first impression of how these libraries/products are doing their job in an intimate setting.

Unexpectedly Puccini

OMG, what have I done? You might as well lay my head on the chopping block. I’ve broken every rule in the VI world. One of the most beautiful arias in the entire operatic repertoire, rendered in a virtual version. But what a lovely morning I’ve had! I took a singer from Dreamtonic SynthV for a little test drive.

The orchestra is largely VSL, with the violins once again supplemented by an InstrumentX duo. If this should be my last post here, I hope you’ll appreciate it, taking it all with a generous pinch of salt.

Lotus Land

Lotus Land, Op. 47, No. 1 is a famous piano piece by the English composer Cyril Scott, originally written in 1905 and dedicated to American composer Henry Hadley. 

The violin and piano transcription by legendary violinist Fritz Kreisler is one of its most popular arrangements. 

This rendering is made with the violin from Instrument X, the piano from Pianoteq - Blüthner.
